They're pretty good for gaming, as long as the room you're in is otherwise quiet. Since they're open-back, you'll also hear any external sound, which I find distracting when gaming. You do lose some positional accuracy in the center with these, but otherwise they're good. I personally find the AKG K271 MKII headphones better for gaming, but they are also closed back and more neutral and analytical, which some find less desirable for music. I've found them on sale on Amazon for around $100 at times, though.

looking to purchase something to boost the volume on these pc 38x. Schitt fulla 3 and Schitt Hel seem to be what im looking for but wondering if the Schitt fulla 3 is enough and still maintain its quality. or better question is the Schitt Hel worth the extra money for these headphones. will i be able to use the extra juice on these? i want to max these out, without buying more than i need. Mayflower arc possibility, but expensive. What about IFI signature, will that work on these?

Speaking of (and to) Speakers...
A while back I mentioned I'd made a couple of mildly overboard speaker purchases--one set for the living room (borderline justifiable) and a another (shamefully unnecessarily) set for the bedroom. Both sets turned out to be extraordinarily enjoyable (as guilty pleasures often are), but the bedroom set was especially so--those are a set of Amazon Echo Studios (paired as a 2.0 stereo system). That's a total of TEN speakers between the two (and they sound like it), but the killer part of that set up is that (with a subscription to Amazon HD music), you can just tell the speakers what you want to hear--and damned if they don't play it! No fiddling with phones or apps or whatever, you just command Alexa to play it, and she obeys. Echo Studio (one of two, five speakers in each) The other set is pretty nice too, they're the Edifier S3000 Pros and they have built-in voodoo on whole 'nuther level. They're powered monitors with built-in amps and DACs (in each speaker). Their...

HD 8XX: First Impressions from an HD 800 Owner
Hi everyone, I guess it’s time for my HD 8XX impressions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Let’s introduce with why: I have never seen a better price, new, on the elite HD 800 series as the HD 8XX, which maintains the landmark soundstage, articulation, transparency, and free-ear ergonomics of the HD 800 and HD 800S, while being tuned a bit darker than before. However, the little touches in tuning are refinements of the familiar signature, and it is still not a warm headphone that would satisfy bassheads. Who I am is important too... not that I’m a big deal, but it’s important to disclose that I do contract consulting work for various companies, and I started helping Sennheiser as a Community Manager in 2017. I am no salesman, and I am not getting any compensation or commission from Sennheiser or Drop, so my goal is to describe the experience as best I can so you can decide for yourself if a headphone is something you would enjoy or if you might end up processing a return. Hopefully I can share some...

IEMS with great sound stage and imaging/articulation <$300
Total noobie but thank you for reading, Only headphones/IEMS I've ever owned GEN 0 Astro A40s, and Tin T2s. Both are dead/dieing, so I'm looking for a replacement/upgrade. I don't know if it's possible at this price point, but my main use case is being able to identify the sounds in my current environment when a lot is going on. And be able to track them correctly. Like, oh there's footsteps close, they're above me and trying to get behind me. While not losing it in stuff that might be happening farther out, a gunfight down the street for example. I'd like a neutral sound signature if at all possible. No amp preferably, I plug in my headphones into a GO XLR Mini if that helps. BTW I'd prefer IEMs, cuz I hate that bald spot thing on my head after wearing headphones for a while. I don't know if discussing products not offered by DROP is allowed on here, but please shoot me a message if that's the case if you have a recommendation! Any help is appreciated thank you! Harvee
