Just spent 12 1/2 hours flying with IEM’s vs ANC cans. Sound quality with passive isolation on the cheap, IEM. Comfort with a hit in the fidelity department, and more bucks, cans, Sony 1000’s. Had Bose 35’s, stolen,, got Sony ANC wired, still have, would get the 1000’s today.

I actually ended up taking all your advice and ordered proper noise Cancelling Headphones. I’m not a fan of anything Sony other than their TV’s so I actually went with the new Sennheiser PXC 550 II.

You will be more than fine with the Senn's, hoping for a review, I may be in the market;) I still have my 222.66 pound Sony Trinitron Wega, it was the King & Queen of TV's in it's day... want it? Free... just carry it away;) It just won't die... Interestingly it has great sound, better than today's flat panels, it had room(s) for it.

I think Sony for TV's is the best! I love mine. Lol Those trinitrons were so damn heavy! I am definitely thinking of reviewing them once I get them as there are really no reviews out there I could find right now, so I took a gamble on buying them. I might do an initial impressions review then a full review after my international flight this month to get a better sense of their strengths' and opportunities. Obviously I wasn't excited about the usb mini plug for charging but if the sound quality gives me that Sennheiser signature sound and gets as close as possible to the 6XX for ANC cans then I will be happy. I wasn't interested in the Momentum 3's as they were too big and heavy for travel in my opinion. Wanted something closer to the Sony's, or Bose, and these seemed to be a good fit. Fingers Crossed!

After about 5 hours of use I can say that I am very happy with the sound signature of the PXC 50-II's with the iFi xDsD pushing them along with the great DAC in the xDsD. This is going to be my go to travel setup. Not only that they are so comfortable! Compared to my 6XX's the comfort level is incredible. Honestly, I am really impressed. I haven't used the bluetooth, or noise cancelling features yet. Just listening so far, and so far so GREAT!

DAC/AMP with 58X Jubilee and Shure MV7 XLR
I'm trying to find a really good sounding DAC/AMP to run my 58X Jubilee's and my Kanto YU2 powered speakers (preferably a button to switch between outputs) and a XLR mic input for my Shure MV7. Any recommendations? PS: I play FPS games (so want the advantage there) and listen to all sorts of music that I want to hear the depth and details of (Classical to NIN/Black Keys).

Drop + THX Panda -- Bluetooth Audio Clipping Whenever Resumed from a Pause of More than 2 Seconds
I don't have much experience with Bluetooth headphones and figured I'd ask here to help set my expectations a bit. I just bought some Drop + THX Panda headphones. They're well reviewed for sound quality and supporting higher-end audio codecs, some of which Macs support (eg: aptX) and some of which they don't (eg: LDAC). Anywho, upon unboxing them and pairing them to my 2020 iMac running Big Sur, I noticed that audio over bluetooth sounds totally fine until it's been paused for more than 2 seconds. When I unpause, it almost feels as if maybe the headphones are coming out of some standby or low-power mode and are rushing to start a new bit stream. The sound is clipped / distorted for a second or two until it "catches up". This is particularly annoying for things like notifications and other sound effects which, by nature, are essentially really short audio clips. I can't find anything online explaining if this is normal behavior or just a shortcoming of bluetooth or these specific...
