Sub $40 keycaps?

more_vert
Has there ever been a keycap set for less than $40? It seems like they're all ridiculously priced these days. Any recommendations?

Glad your question was answered on where to look.
As far as specific recommendations, all I can say is go for doubleshot keycaps given the choice. If that's not an opition, dye sublimated are also pretty good.

Sorry guys, I didn't phrase my question right. I didn't mean for Massdrop, as Massdrop lowers the prices using group buys. I was talking about MSRP prices on other sites. @Makami answered my question. Thanks guys.

Amazon, Newegg, Originative, Clueboard, and many other vendors are available with packaged sets of caps that can suit a standard keyboard layout. MassDrop offers similar drops from Ducky, Vortex, and others. MassDrop also involves vendors like Signature Plastics, GMK, and others to make custom caps based on requests from the community. These custom drops are typically much more expensive because they are specific colors and even custom colors, special key sizes to support various other keyboards, special profiles, and choice of material. All these additional factors are not standard for keycaps. Unfortunately this hasn't been communicated to our community as many of these drops have went through interest checks on separate message boards.
Check out the possible other sites mentioned above and if you need links to some, I'm sure we can post a few, or just keep an eye out for new drops and jump on one you like. HTH

There're cheaper ones every other day, MD is trying to make all people, enthusiasts and newbies, happy. Maybe you're not pleased with given designs, which is fine, but specialized community sets like Granite, Pulse ... will not happen at that pricerange.
