Yes. I used one pole for 8 days backpacking in Wind River range. Half of time, we were not on regular trails. So lots of rocks. It performed marvelously, never gave me a problem. I've since used it on many hikes and climbs.

After 100 miles on the John Muir Trail, along with 500 or so miles on shorter trips, these things are still holding up wonderfully.

Yes. That's what they're made for! I took them with me to Sweden along the very rocky Kungsleden and they were fine.

My wife usually uses the Fizans but I’ve also used them a bunch. The short answer is YES, definitely. The long answer is that I think you have to look at the terrain and conditions to determine what pole would have the best application for the trip you are on. If you can’t afford another set or don’t see the need for a couple of sets I think these are a great all- round pole. The price point for the quality can’t be matched. For example if I was going through the High Sierras in early summer with a lot of snowpack and I knew I would have poles in my hand 98% of the time and sometimes putting a lot of pressure on them I would opt for my BD Carbon Corks or a Komperdell equivalent. A lot heavier but stiffer and stronger. If I was on a trail with sort of average tread and not a ton of technical terrain these would be in my hand. These are especially good when you aren’t using them because they are so light to throw back on your pack. Strongly recommended

Yep. They work well. I had one retract on me a couple of times when I put a lot of pressure on and I found that I had to crank the tension down on it more than the other side but it was fine after that.

Yes they would be but they are long - you may struggle to find a way to carry them inside your pack. Most likely have to strap to outside of your pack somehow. I have not taken them on a backpacking bushwalk yet. Just day trips.
