Will a Nalgene 1 litre bottle fit comfortably in the side pockets?

Yes, but why? This pack is a lightweight/ultralight pack. Use Smartwater or similar bottles and save weight. I was a Nalgene devotee for years, then a bladder user, but now I’m using Smartwater bottles. It just makes sense.

Expext a Nalgene to fall off from time to time of the pocket since it's very large and wide open!

Yes, there's room for a Nalgene bottle.

Yes. The side pouch is really stretchy and can accommodate no issue. Just know that the more you pack in the main pack, the tighter it’ll be. Consider a 33oz smart water bottle and save weight. Great pack, love mine
