MASSDROP X ALEX CAVALLI TUBE HYBRID input modes

more_vert
Audiophile noob here. Does this mean that the tube amp ONLY works when the input button is extended (RCA input mode) and not when you're using micro usb as the input source? Thanks.

Hey Demon Ramen! As others have said, the CTH will use its internal DAC when the input button is extended. With the input button in the other position, it can accept analog audio from any other source. The key takeaway is that the Tube Hybrid amplifier stage is always in effect if you have your headphones plugged in. Input button “extended,” the CTH is a DAC/ Amp. Button switched, the CTH is still an Amp.

1 input is for internal SDAC, the other input can be anything else; it can be another DAC, straight from PC's 3.5mm output, TV's RCA output, vinyl player with built in Phono out...etc. you get the idea.

I believe what that means is that your device has an internal DAC. You can choose to use it or another DAC of your choosing. When the button is pushed out then you are using the internal device DAC. When the button is pushed in, your device is looking for an external DAC via the RCA's.
