What DAC/AMP can I use on Windows 10 without installing anything on my workplace laptop?

more_vert
I wanted to buy TOPPING NX4 DSD DAC/AMP which is available only today, but read that I'd have to install drivers (is this true?) and I do not have installation rights. I also would drive a HE4XX, HD600. And I needs to be portable in a smaller backpack.

Any UAC1 and UAC2 compliant dac/amp should work without drivers on up to date Windows 10. You might want to check out the RadStone EarStudio ES100 (Amazon) I know it works wonderfully with my HD6xx, T60RP, and every IEM I've tried. They can be had on Amazon for $99USD. The unit is able to do audio via Bluetooth5 and USB, and utilizes an app on the iPhone or Android for device configuration. As for playback, I know you can use stuff like TIDAL and Pandora via web browser.

FayneYep. The ES100 can drive the HE4xx well enough, easily into hearing damage range. Maybe not as loud as one of my desktop amps, but I rarely drive anything past 40% on most all of my amps.

Instead of connecting the Topping to your computer, can you connect it to your phone? That might be the way to go
