Problems with your Planck (how to fix)

more_vert
many people have commented on how their Planck has different manufacturing errors (please don't blame Massdrop for this) here are some problems and how to fix them
  1. Jagged edges
search
If your top plate cannot fit your switched then you have a slight manufacturing error with the cutting of the plate I would recommend filing it down just enough as it is supposed to be sticking out but not enough to stop switches from going in.
2. build up
search
If you have a buildup of material that is causing your screws to not fit you should attempt to scrap it out with a pick, knife, or fork if you can not make sure to take pictures and get in contact with support
3. "scratching"
search
This scratching has to do with how the bottoms were milled and if you think it is to big or noticeable make to sure to take pictures and get in contact with support. I hope all of this info helps :)

Also: If you notice that once you push a key down it doesn't come back up, then the slot in the plate is too tight. You can test this by taking a switch and squeezing the sides with your fingers. Front to back doesn't seem to impact it as much weirdly.

I am sorry I couldn't have fixes for all your Planck problems but I did want to inform people on what their problems were.

Maybe we can make up for the other problems and fixes here by replying to each other? :)

I got a planck top plate from the same batch as the mass drop order and was very concerned with the jagged slots. I've had no issues with mine, all though at first it was a little hard to put the switches in, once I figured out the right amount of force to use it was no problem.
