I've had really good experiences with the Dalstrong knife brand, and I would love to pick up another one if massdrop worked with them (hint hint wink wonk) mine's pretty beat, any idea how to buff out scratches and such without too much trouble?

kluzy0156It all depends on how deep the scratches are. Mild scratches and blemishes can be removed with a metal polish such as Flitz. More severe and deep scratches can be removed quite well using a die grinder with 3M roll loc type abrasive wheels. I have used them in the past to clean up some very valuable knives. Best of luck.

kluzy0156that's the problem of buying a knife for it's cosmetics, rather than it's functionality.
The advice of fourday is what I would also recommend. After you did what he said, I'd let it soak in vinegar for a few days so the softer steel that is more reactive with differentiate itself from the harder layer. And while dalstrong does have excellent customer care, you really should consider something better qualitry at the same (or less) price point.
