I'm currently using a Drop Alt with Kailh copper switches as my main driver, but have been thinking about going to something more "ortho." I tried an ergodox, which was a complete failure (it's for sale on ebay right now if anyone is looking for one). I'm thinking about some other option in an ortholinear, potentially split, though I'm not certain about the split part yet, so maybe something that can be split but doesn't need to be. I need backlit keys, and would prefer hot swappable switches, or even a board with no switches, as I'm probably going to stick with the coppers for a while.
Any experience with other ortholinears? Are they really a huge change from the standard staggered layout?
Any thoughts on what might be out there and interesting? I saw there were a couple of drops here, but nothing that's current... What would almost be ideal would be an ortholinear version of the Alt with a split that can either be used or not, depending on the situation and preference.
I'm sure most community members are aware of or have heard of JTK keycaps. Established in 2014, they are the manufacturer behind popular sets like JTK Arctic, Hana, Aqua, Photostudio and Hyperfuse. Their goal to make high quality and affordable can be seen by their keycaps of thick ABS plastic and doubleshot legends. Throughout the years, they have continued to improve and refine their colors and designs, producing many sets for the community. All of them are sold as one base kit with compatibility for multiple, if not all, layouts.
Typically offered in Cherry profile, I'm excited to announce that I have been communicating with JTK on the release of their newest profile offering - Half-SA, or HSA. HSA is a new, spherical and sculpted profile influenced as a short variation of the popular SA profile. It comes in doubleshot ABS with a smooth and glossy finish. Based on feedback around the community, JTK has developed a few simple HSA sets through preliminary...
Hi. I am looking for a case for my MinVan. I find a lot of 60% keyboard cases but I don't find any specific for 40%. I assume that most of them work for a 40% too but is there anyone anyone have actually tried and can recommend? I have some custom keycaps that are a bit higher than the normal profile.
Thank you all in advance.
