Any thoughts on this tent (complexity in pitch) vs a freestander for tent platforms at backcountry campsites?

I find it faster...and in wind/night I prefer to set up this one. There are some ultralight carbon tent poles you can find aftermarket if you don't want hiking poles. One of my friends took an old camera/telescope tripod, removed the legs and uses 2 of them (ends toward the tent peak rounded/protected) as adjustable tent poles for this tent.

This is a great tent and easy to pitch, but on a platform you'll need guy outs that will not fail.

It takes a little practice but after you pitch it a couple of times you get the hang of it.

It is definitely more fiddly but either way guying a tent on a platform is more difficult as even 'freestanding' tents still require vestibules etc to be guyed out.
