Mr. Speakers Aeon Flow Open, Drop Variant.

more_vert
Don't know if anyone else say on IG, but the tease for the new headphone launching on December 26th looks like a Mr. Speakers Aeon Flow Open to me. I'm just curious what everyone's thoughts are on this?

Looks like an open ÆON to me as well. Seeing as how the original Ether C (not the FLOW version) showed up on Drop at a nice discount, it would be cool to see a similar deal on the ÆON. It would be even more cool to see a Bluetooth+wired capable edition of the ÆON!

I kinda want one to but no way I'm able to budget it in this holiday season.
LifelongCabooseI feel ya... it was definitely a surprise collaboration, one that I’m excited about and I’d love to have (also that center speaker from Chane!) but I spent my fun funds on gifts this month, and I have a bit of Drop store credit but it’s earmarked for the pants (Dropped a knife into my fav pair of Banana Republic traveller jeans... hurt physically, but the hole, blood, and some other non-related wear and tear have basically meant I need to retire the BR’s from public view).

I hope these will be AFO 2 or if it happens to be 1st version then modified/improved or else not worth the money. Overall curious to see what they gonna offer. Assdrop, send ones to Oluv to review ASAP.

I hope they offer a closed version too, but I doubt they will since it might cannibalize Ether CX sales.

Someone else in the discussion actually mentioned that it may have something to do with which DCA models were more successful - if the open Ether and closed Aeon were the more popular models, then it makes sense that the Drop collaborations would be the other versions, since there are probably more parts left over. No idea if that's true or not, but maybe.
ReedoMaybe. Since the Open/closed variants are the same price, I also would rather have ÆON closed for portable use, ETHER Open for home use.
I think you are spot on and since they changed/modified the planar assembly I could see DCA offering drop a collaboration on the old gen (like the Ether C non-flow)

ElectronicVicesIt would be very interesting to see a MR. Speakers Aeon Flow 1 being rebranded and altered as a Drop X Dan Clark Audio Aeon Flow X Open. I'm very interested in this and can't wait to see what they do with it.
LifelongCabooseAt this point I need no more open planar headphones but hope it brings more people on to the planar wagon. Own the Arya, HE6se, HE500, Sine, Ether CX and was given a T-X0ii so one might consider me a fan boy. If I get another planar it will be something for travel to replace the Sine or maybe an Abyss TC/Susvara way down the road.
