jxliuThank you so much! I've been looking for a keyboard like this xD Cause I've got a bigger gaming one but am learning how to code and game design in particular and wanted something that I could bring on the move with me from place to place xD because I don't mind the mac keyboards but sometimes I prefer actually pressing down on a key! also love it's vintage look. Having looked at the website (the second link you sent me) I was a little confused as to which version to select if I were to go for the version that comes with the complete keyboard?

TomsHuntIf you want it exactly as pictured, then you want the "Serialized - Canvas TKL Kit - No Switches" : https://mechkeys.drop.com/products/massdrop-x-mito-canvas-ctrl-mechanical-keyboard-62553?variant=31421627662380 (second link in my initial comment) That one includes the keyboard (case and PCB) and the keycap set as pictured in the photo that you posted. You will need 87 switches though since it doesn't come with switches. If you need to buy switches, you'll want "plate mount" switches with a transparent housing to let the LEDs shine through.

jxliuAre switches expensive to buy in addition to the keyboard (are they a necessity?) and forgive me for asking but what exactly are switches?

TomsHuntSwitches are the parts that translate your keypresses into electrical contacts that the keyboard PCB uses to determine if a key is pressed or not. There are a lot of different types of switches. The CTRL keyboard uses Cherry MX-compatible switches (like a lot of other mechanical keyboards). We typically sell keyboards with switches, but in this case, it happens to be a unit optioned to not include switches. This post has a cross section of an MX switch: https://drop.com/talk/8455/mechanical-keyboard-switches-101-mx-style-switches You will need one switch for each key on the keyboard. CTRL keyboard has 87 keys, so you'll need 87 switches. If you're used to a standard PC membrane keyboard or laptop scissor switch, I'd recommend getting brown switches. Brown switches have a tactile bump when they actuate and do not make clicky noises, so they are the most similar to membrane or scissor switch keyboards. The link above covers the three general groups of switch "feel" and switch weight. If you want to pick up switches in the same order as the keyboard, we're selling Kailh Box Brown switches here for $30: https://mechkeys.drop.com/collections/switches/products/kailh-box-switches-47401?variant=31420015247404 (you'll want the 120 pack because 70 < 87) If you're feeling adventurous, there are online stores like NovelKeys that sells a wide assortment of switches. We do ship keyboards to the UK though note that you are responsible for paying VAT and related import charges.

jxliuThank you so much for all your help! :) Going to go and look at all the information now before I make final decisions but lastly wanted to ask what the end date would be to the Keyboard from the store? So I know roughly how much time I have to purchase it

TomsHuntIt'll be gone when it sells out. We still have 18 units of the "Serialized - Canvas TKL Kit - No Switches" version. Given that it's still around after the first day of sales, I'd imagine it'll be around for a few weeks. You should probably keep an eye on it. When it gets below 10 units remaining, it'll say "Only X pieces in stock" like it does for the barebones version.
