6xx or 4xx for Electronic Music (not EDM)

more_vert
Everyone here mentions EDM, but I listen to a lot lower BPM oriented electronic music. I'm looking for something with tighter bass and crisper highs. Not a lot of vocals or guitars. I currently have: Sennheiser 558 Sennheiser 280 Status CB-1 I also have a FiiO K5 Pro for my amp/dac Between the 4xx and 6xx, what is going to get me the better sound for my style of music? Re: Four Tet, Andy Stott, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Oneothrix Point Never, Burial, Demdike Stare, Massive Attack Thanks!

Are they everything you were hoping for? Which is to say, hopefully our advice wasn't total crap. :)

They were exactly what I was hoping for. Crisp, clean sound and great imaging. I wouldn't want anything brighter, so a job well done :) Next up would be a fun soundstage set of cans, but this will do me well for a long time to come :) Also, vocals are INSANE on these.

If you like your Senn’s now, you will very much enjoy the 6XX, for all types of music. Your FiiO K5 Pro with the TI TPA6120A2 should drive planars well too, for your crisp highs... so just get both;) Senn first.

Hopefully, they will still get some attention... are you listening to 24-96/192 flac or dsd? If not, this will help bring that detail you are seeking.
