Cunning plans, not always well thought out. Oh hey, I've got 200 GE 5654W. ^^;

Same tube as what's in the CTH?
Nope. Cth eats 6922. I *wish* I had a case of them. Bloody expensive tubes.
But I did order some interesting adapters a few weeks back which let one use a pair of 6AK5/5654W/6ZH1P in place of a 6922. They're likely running the 6AK5 as a triode seeing the 6922 is a dual triode while the 6AK5 is a single pentode. I'll totally be tracing the pin-outs and likely doing a test run using my TV-7B/U once they arrive, but very cool if it works right. Totally opens my amp collection up to new and fun tube rolling. I could probably build some of my own adapters instead of ordering from china even. Eagle Cad + OSH Park == easy circuit-board fabrication.

Sorry noob question. What are those for?
These days, amplifiers like the LittleDot1+ and ZDT Jr. use them. They were originally released in 1942 for use in radar amplification under the model name of 6AK5. The Brits did their own as EF95, the Russians as 6ZH1P, and the Chinese as 6J1. The 5654W pictured is one of the last generations of the ruggedized and military hardened 6AK5 family made by GE. I <3 the fact that using them for audio is a total swords to plowshares action.
