Ctrl Keyboard PCB Amber Flashing light?

more_vert
Recently my CTRL has stopped working randomly and decided to open it up. Theres no visible damage, but when plugged in theres a flashing amber light coming from D94. Does anyone know what this means?

Sorry for the late comment, but something similar happened to me a few hours ago, my keyboard was not working, no input, no RGB. When I opened it, it had a constant amber light on the back of the PCB, not flashing, probably it means the device is in debug mode already and is awaiting new firmware. I solved it by downloading drop's tool for flashing the firmware and flashing it, it came back to life and is working as before. https://drop.com/talk/9382/how-to-configure-your-drop-keyboard I assumed it was already in debug mode and it worked, hopefully it works for you too.

I just had the same issue happen to me last night with my unit I got from DROP Amazon. I haven't had any change in use/ damage anytime recently. But however ... it's been just a few days over a month ... I really hope something can be done, otherwise I'll have wasted so much money I saved for this keyboard ...

SilentA09For anyone that cares this might help! I was previously connecting my keyboard from my monitor (CRG9) which stopped working. No cable changes solved the issue but seemed to work for other devices. However, when I switched it to using another USB hub or my tablet directly, it worked like normal. Try this in case/ or connecting to another device if it doesn't work!

EdwiForgot about this post. Sadly never figured it out, made a conclusion that board is dead when the amber light switches on. I sold the set on Ebay for the parts and caps. If you still have warranty with MD then hit them up, otherwise sell it for parts and get a better Keyboard. Hope that helps.

GreyRainIn case anyone is wondering after years.. there is a good chance its caused by a data line in your usb cable having lost contact with a connector - possibly due to a poor solder job at the factory.
