Has anyone found a good way to make baked doughnuts?

more_vert
My family and I love doughnuts (who doesn't?) but I really need to avoid all the fat associated with traditional doughnuts which are fried. I have seen the baking pans for doughnuts but I am curious is anyone has tried one of these and if you have found a good recipe that still tastes like a doughnut instead of a round muffin with a hole in the middle. If I can find a good recipe, I will probably go ahead and buy one of these baking pans.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Smarter than Homer, but still loves doughnuts

I would avoid the baking pans for donuts because it's probably going to taste like a cake donut (unless that's what you're going for). I enjoy eating the fluffy yeast donuts and while I can't imagine them baked (#fatgirlproblems), I found this recipe you might wanna try: http://www.annieschamorrokitchen.com/baked-yeast-donuts/. I haven't tried it but looks to have really good reviews. If you do try it, I'd love to know how they turned out! :)
