Folks, when ETH because unprofitable to mine, expect a massive flood of cheap GPUs. Just hold out a bit longer (2-3 months). It's coming.

ArsenalOhioIf GPU mining becomes unprofitable then they probably won't be buying up all the cards at that point, so I'd probably wait to buy one new from a reputable seller like Massdrop, Newegg, Amazon, etc. No point in settling for a used card that's been mining 24/7 in god knows what kind of conditions.

ArsenalOhioThat's the last thing you want to do. Those cheap GPUs are coming from previous miners who tax the hell out of their GPUs dramatically until they die. A card for gamers may last around 2 years ish, but a card for miners only lasts for a couple months. Those cards will be really bad for gamers. It's honestly a waste of money to buy pre-owned cards

my_name_eggCommon misconception. GPU's run at low temps when mining, and will be fine for gaming after. Sure they are being used, but if the fans are good, there is no issue. For the prices you will see on used mining GPUs when the bubble bursts, you'd be crazy NOT to buy them.

ArsenalOhioSir I hope you're right, but everything I've seen is pointing to low quality GPUs flooding the markets. I pray that what you say is true.

ArsenalOhioYeah, you might get lucky and get a card that isn't cooked, but it's not worth the gamble in my opinion. If the market is flooded with cheap cards then there will be no reason to buy an ex-mining card for $200-400~ish when you could buy one brand new at or below MSRP, that also hasn't been running 24/7 for X amount of time, and is still fully covered under the manufacturer warranty.
