I dont have a problem with small miners ordering like 8 gpus for a rig but when it comes to big miners I have an issue. Like clearly you make enough money already to buy asics or just day trade with your crypto but you choose to ruin the market by buying an entire shipment.

JoshMc72Well, you say you here, implying me. I don't really have enough for 100 GPU's, I did however build my first 8 GPU rig and I'd love to try something bigger. The income is only marginal, really if every household could drop like what you'd spend on a college fund, (say, 24-32 gpus) you could have free rent, power, water, etc. Probably pay off your house in like 5 years if you worked a decent fulltime job as well, for the same amount of money the realtor made selling a typical 120k house. It's absurdly good gains. I only hope the best for the market and wish to see the gamers stabilize and end up with a plethora of much more up to date hardware. (Look at computer spec info collected on steam and other large platforms. It's a fucking joke what people are gaming on these days.((NO WONDER CONSOLES ARE STILL AROUND)) And I'm talking before all this GPU raging blindly because of crypto.)

AurriusIf every household was able to buy 24-32 cards for pure mining, do you know how much power that would require? The whole world wouldn't have enough power to support that. Miners need to realize the ecosystem they created is unsustainable. It cannot last the rate they're going.

Aurriusyeah, the human eye can only see cinematic 24 FPS so why do you need a fancy GPU

bzhang21I think that's more of an issue with our global energy sources as a whole than the crypto community (which is actually really small in relation to other energy sapping industries) If anything I see it making people more innovative when it comes to their home energy solutions - Solar/Hydro/Wind applications with mining rigs can lead to amazing yields and little impact on the environment.

SlobloThis is just not true at all regarding humans ability to perceive frames.

SlobloThe airforce built this rig and needed high framrrates because humans perceive the difference without it. Hell even regular people (not pilots) can tell the difference between something like 24fps and 48fps. Why do you think people hated the Hobbit? https://humansystems.arc.nasa.gov/publications/2012_08_aiaa_ig_obva.pdf
