LG V50 thinQ

more_vert
Incontrovertibly the most underated phone if 2019. With the best 3.5mm LDAC 32bit Hfi jack on any phone, Snapdragon 855, Duel screen options, the 4k video, full manual options, ip68, the list is endless.

I can vouch for LG, as I'm quite happy with my G8 Thinq. The updates have been pretty regular, and the recent Android Q install feels like a real upgrade. They had a pretty rough time for a while, but this phone was a bit of a hallmark for cleaning all that up. I can't imagine they went downhill with the newer phone.

LG has a pretty bad reputation regarding software updates. Lots of promises, but no delivering. Good hardware specs are nice, but I don’t buy phones which are essentially unsupported from the moment I buy them.

There's a reason they're cheap. They're poorly made and tend to break or become dysfunctional easily My LG G6 was bent at the SIM card slot, stopped charging at above 0.5A after being submerged in water a single time for under 10 seconds, had the SIM card tray just break upon removal because it was made of cheap plastic, had the battery life become terrible, and had the backglass crack after a light drop, all with pretty regular light use all in LESS THAN A YEAR. And yes, I took pretty good care of it and didn't mistreat it as it was my only phone. I've had a couple other LG phones (Nexus 4+5, Optimus F7, maybe more) and they've all just seemed poor quality relative to other phones. There's a reason LG phones crash in value after being on the market for only a couple weeks or months. If you want a good phone for a good price, go with OnePlus or a similar company. LG just isn't worth it.
