Limiting to stuff I don't constantly see praised,
Homunculus - Tauk Heavy Metal Hippies - Loudness Phenomenon - UFO In for the Kill! - Budgie Colors of Jazz - Blazo Taste the Secret - Ugly Duckling All of a Sudden, I Miss Everyone - Explosions in the Sky ( ) - Sigur Rós Time’s End - Theophany Substantial and Marcus D are Bop Alloy - Bop Alloy Red Forest - If These Trees Could Talk Hymn to the Immortal Wind - Mono
Obvious post rock tilt to the list... but that's been a lot of my recent obsession musically. Tons of stuff I haven’t thought of, tons of stuff I intentionally skipped over here. I love and hate lists like this. It’s impossible to actually iron anything out for me, but it tends to steer me toward more music, which is always cool.

Love their stuff. Not even sure that's my favorite album of theirs. Valtari and Takk are both contenders too.
Same thing with EitS though. The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place and Those who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever are both up there. The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place may actually be higher than All of a Sudden, I Miss Everyone, but I'm always super indecisive on which album is best from a lot of bands.

ProfessorPatYeah I can see where you are coming from lol. EitS are really good from the stuff I have heard really need to check more of their stuff out. I really like Maybeshewill I recommend checking them out if you haven't already maybe look at the Fair Youth album.

I have not. Definitely will check them out. Always looking for recommendations from anyone with remotely similar tastes.
The endless backlog of stuff I've said I'll listen to continues to grow... yay!

I finally got around to checking out that album. Not quite as energetic as ITTCT or Mono's heavy stuff, nor as ridiculously relaxing as Sigur Ros or a lot of EitS's stuff, but it's an enjoyable addition to the rotation for sure. The middle ground between the styles is something I haven't gone after as much up to now. I'm sure it'll be something that keeps growing on me. It grew on me more and more just over the course of the album already. I definitely appreciate the recommendation.

ProfessorPatGlad you enjoyed it. If you have any suggestions for me to check out I am more than happy to have a look not really heard any Mono stuff so that could be a start?

Mono’s a good one. A bit heavier at times compared to Sigur Rós or EitS, but still that droning soundscapey feel that they have. Obviously I liked Hymn to the Immortal Wind enough to put it in the list, but most albums are pretty good.
Uhh, If These Trees Could Talk is fun, only getting better from album to album (though I still prefer Red Forest to The Bones of a Dying World). Much more distortion driven, a bit less drone-y, depending on the track.
Russian Circles is good too. Sort of a imilar sound to ITTCT, but only a 3 man band instead of 5, so a lot less of it.
Plenty of recommendations for things with dramatically different sounds too. Not sure what you’re after in that regard though.

ProfessorPatI shall have a look at some of these albums as I haven't come across any of them. I think what I am looking for is more lively post rock I tend to go for that more than the soft slow stuff these days so the heavier stuff sounds up my alley. Will be sure to let you know what I think many thanks on the informative post.
