Roughly 8 years ago, the HD598 teamed up with a Schiit Asgard brought me into the whole audiophile music enjoyment. Now, many Sennheiser (and non Sennheiser) headphones later, I still like Senheiser as a brand the most. They really care for their customers and products. And it shows. I personally love the 6XX the best so far, I bought it as a backup for my 650. Thanks for so many hours of music bliss!
koolpepLooking over old posts in this discussion, there really was a different vibe back then. Thanks for the memories, hope you are well!

EvshrugAwww, yes indeed - great to bring these memories back. Thank you, all is well, hope with you too! And yes - the positivity and excitement was different to todays entitlement and harshness to an extend. On the other hand - good sound quality has become way more affordable - it's sometimes amazing what you can get for little money these days. Trippowin Mele for example.... I also felt I had way more time back then to actually enjoy music. Ah well.... :-)
koolpepSomeone just introduced the Mele to my friend’s group… calling it a BLON BL-03 killer. I haven’t heard the Mele yet. In other places, like Head-Fi, I’ve been able to foster more discussion about music and listening notes, which has been like a great refuge. It’s interesting to me, because Drop was a refuge from Head-Fi for me for awhile, where I could talk a little more about my gear. Oh well, these things go in cycles, I guess 🤷‍♂️ As the community manager for Sennheiser (I created all the Sennheiser posts here, in collaboration with three different product managers teaching me stuff), I wonder if there’s some kind of conversation I could contribute to make conversation more enjoyable around here, or if it’s out of my control and just a Covid/Drop thing🤷‍♂️

EvshrugHmmm good question. I mean Sennheiser is on a roll recently. I buu oh geht and loved the HD820 but eventually sold it. I think covid has driven so many offers in audio in many other places that drop has lost a bit of its luster. The usually longish delivery times and the fact that other channels offered similar price levels have made drop less attractive except for the collaborations. I still check drop frequently but haven’t bought in quite a while. Before covid I bought something every other month. Granted there was more choice, from watches, sunglasses to outdoor things too. The mele are a must have for 50 bucks. Just wanted to throw that in. However coming back to Sennheiser. I Al lusting for the ie900 but just received my custom JH Audio Roxanne’s today. So need to take it a bit easy for the time to come. I feel that the community aspect has taken the backseat recently as products took the center stage. It changed to a more transactional experience. Less community feel to get a deal over the finish line. Anticipation and discussions along the way. So many more YouTube reviewers, less time spent on forums. Not sure how to compete. But good and solid information will always find a way to the top. Thanks for your previous contributions and am looking forward to more to come.
koolpepYeah! I started doing my own YouTube videos too! As long as CanJam SoCal continues this year, I’m planning to attend. I was asked to present a “Headphones 101” seminar, and I’ve got an outline, but I’m cruising around trying to see what the new people to our hobby need to hear. And you’re not alone… I also like the HD 820! I totally understand wanting to enjoy some custom in ears, especially if they just arrived today and you’re just starting your “relationship” with them. Are they fitting you well? CIEMs are the biggest blind leap of faith there is in this hobby, congrats!
