I decided to design and build some headphone stands for myself and my friends. It started out with pencil and paper sketching, then it transitioned to a cardboard out-out model, and now I finished the project. I used SolidsWorks to model it and then I transferred it to MasterCam to plan the CNC routing.
I am using 3/4 inch wood board and stacking 4 of them on top of each other. The center 2 pieces will have through holes and the out 2 pieces will only have holes cut 1/2 inch in. Then dowel rods and wood glue will be used to make sure the outside faces are nice and pretty.
Sometimes, I get excited seeing an active drop only to get let down when navigating to product's page and finding out that the product is not internationally shipped to my country.
Can I have an option to filter out these products on the home page itself?
That would be nice.
Recently found Drop and missed two R2R DAC sales so..
Hey folks, still finding my way around some of Drops detail information but wanted to confirm what I've found with some of you.
Looks like i've missed to ladder DAC sales and I can't find any in the near pipeline. Just wondering if any of you may know of up and coming R-2R DACs that are in Drops near future public release dates?
Interested in a R-2R NOS tube DAC kit, but was hoping to listen and live with a resister based DAC for some time before laying the cash and time on a kit.
Thanks for any information especially if it's secret info.
I bought AKG K7XX 'limited edition' in 2017. Good headphones. A bit cumbersome for travel. Good for at home use.
At the start of 2020 I noticed the elastic that is meant to pull the ear cups upwards to counter their weight and to fit heads smaller than max size, this elastic has totally fallen apart. It has no spring anymore. So now the ear cups sit too low. It's uncomfortable and affects the sound quality.
I am very disappointed considering it is such a simple component to get right... just don't cheap out on it.
I would post a photo but that will have to come later as I am on my PC.
What can be done to fix this??? Warranty? DIY?
Thanks for your thoughts.
I've noticed a rather lot of blind enthusiasm on these forums where people just drop a single link to an ASR 'review' without commentary as though Amir offers any authority on the subject.
Amir is an ex software engineer, 'retired' Microsoft money (EDIT, Amir has corrected me, he is not a software engineer, this is my bad, his background is linked in his sig on ASF); he larps as though he understands hardware but a quick trip off the DAC reservation shows his ignorance very quickly. For instance, here he is needing to be told by one of his forum members that he can simply add a balanced cord to his HD650 to test balanced lol: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/so-what-is-a-common-balanced-headphone-for-testing.4949/ Dude seriously thought he needed an entirely new pair of headphones! LMAO.
More fundamentally, he makes all sorts of commentary on spectrum shape at sub -110 dB levels, but offers no precision gauge in the form of repeated measurements...
