I SO desperately desire Clairefontaine notebooks with 7mm dot grid ruling. Dot grid ruling is amazing, but at 5mm I jus can't use it for a lot of writing applications. With 7mm dot grid ruling, where would be nothing I couldn't do!

Have you tried the Mnemosyne N194A Special Memo Notepad - B5? It comes in a 7mm rule, but not dot grid. While the Mnemosyne paper is not quite as nice as the Clairefontaine, it is actually decent for FP use. I use several EF FPs in my Mnemosyne notebooks and have had little bleed through and feathering. Good luck finding 7mm dot grid as it looks as if 5mm is about the norm. Maybe if you can get enough people interested in a 7mm dot grid, someone might run a production run.

I know my gal sure would like it if Mnemosyne would do a dot grid. She likes their paper but (like me) doesn't care for the grid or the lines all that much.

Out of interest, what are you doing that you want 7mm ruled dots for?

Well for me, dot grid is the most flexible, because you can write on it, draw on it, make graphs and charts, or just indent with precision. It can also work when rotated. So with that flexibility, in a size that I can comfortably write (7-8mm) I think I could use it for just about any application. Especially the most organized notes ever.

I agree -- a nice paper with dot grids in 7mm spacing (rather than 5mm) would be very interesting indeed

Oh okay, I thought you were saying you had some specific use for 7mm ruled dots. Like, drafting or some such.

Nope. 5mm is just too small to write.

Ah ha, I gotcha. You might wanna consider printing your own dot rule on (I think) HP Laser Paper. I've heard people have good success with that.

I have heard there are sites that have a pdf to down and print your own dot grid paper. I have not been able to find one that I can adjust or customize. I'd like to print some on inkjet paper for students to use in the class. If anyone knows of a site.. It would be much appreciated :)

Vintage DIY-ers interest check
Anyone in the community collect (and repair) vintage pens for use? I find it is often the next step in fountain pen collecting, but it took me about 10 years into the hobby before I built up the courage (and had the income to devote to it). I started with a lot of cheap and broken lever fill pens off eBay and now hunt specific brands and types. However, there’s just something elegant and satisfying in bringing an old pen back to life and pushing it back into service! My latest was a pair of wartime Conway Stewarts, which are uncommon pens here in the US but some of my favorites. [image]

3D-Printed Fountain Pens
[image] You'd think that, with the popularity of 3D printers, there'd be dozens of 3D-printed fountain pens on the market. Thankfully, that's not been the case. I think, for a 3D-printed pen to succeed, it has to bring something new to the table. Something that traditional manufacturing methods can't already offer. To that end, the only project that comes close, in my opinion, is Additive Pens with their Double Helix. [image] They used 3D printing to create what is basically an eye-dropper that would have been practically impossible using traditional methods. [image] What impresses me the most, is that they only implement 3D printing where needed. [image] The cap and section of their latest batch, for example, are turned from Alumilite blanks the traditional way. [image] What do you think of them? Do you want one? I know, I do. You know of other 3D-printed writing instruments that deserve mention? Look forward to your comments. I've created a poll for anyone who'd like to...
