My experience with flashlights includes over thirty years as a cop twenty-five of which are as a firearms and tactics instructor specializing in close quarter contact to include low light environments. Based upon testing and evaluations on the range and in the field I have always used Surefire weaponlights and handheld lights due to the overall quality, reliability and option availability in addition to whatever the department issues. I have used these on pistols, shotguns, subguns and short barreled rifles and unequivocally recommend them for this type of work. Recently I have also been looking at Fenix handheld lights as a backup to the various Surefire lights I carry and have found them to be vary well made and reliable with good features for the price point. There are a lot of brands popping up in the industry some better than others which are acceptable for most taskes but due to demands of the job I am very picky about what I spend my own money on so I would like to see our discussions include high end high quality lights.
