I've got a Massdrop Brass AAA in my coin pocket, along with a couple of spare AAAs, as my EDC. I never use that pocket for coins (who carries coins?) so it basically takes zero extra space.
I also have a Lumintop Titanium IYP365 in my laptop bag for a little bit more power when I need it.
Both are pretty handy around the property (dog walks / firewood / mystery noises) - better than lugging the old giant maglite around.
What are people's thoughts on a good rechargeable, high powered flashlight? Something I can leave on a USB charger and grab when necessary?

ceeekayYou won't do a helluva lot better unless you step into the CR123 or 18650 battery world. Poor old AA and AAA can only do so much.

namhodI think you're right. I've joined the Nitecore MH27 drop yesterday, and sorted a local 18650 battery supplier.
We're on a semi-rural property so having a decent flashlight to hand is pretty important for us.

namhodI agree. My EDC is a Fenix LD01-SS due to the size, but AAA doesn't allow enough light output for any kind of serious outdoor use. Any time I need real light output, I reach for my current fave: the Eagletac D25LC2 clicky. It's got good light output in a compact size, and gets great runtime with 18650 battery. Compatibility with 2x CR123A is a nice bonus for the off chance that power becomes unavailable (e.g. natural disaster, etc.) for recharging and one has to fall back to consumable cells as backup.
