DaryllPeterGriffithI am a huge fan of Shure IEMs... for the money they are really hard to best. The FiiO DAC/Amps are really great for the money, I have 3 different FiiO portable units. OK so here are my recommendations: Best for the money: IEM) Shure SE215 ($99) amazing isolation if you use the memory foam pads (about 30dB isolation). Great overall sound signature... on the warmer side of things, which most people enjoy. Amp) FiiO E17 ($180) DAC/Amp can't really be beaten for the price. BEST of the Best no matter price: IEM) Shure SE846 ($899) God like sound, brings most people to tears, hearing them for the first time, I know it did me :) Amp) FiiO Q5 ($350) Feature heavy and amazing sound, with absolutely zero noise floor, even on the sensitive SE846s. PLUS you get Interchangeable amp modules, so you can "tune" the DAC/Amp to your liking. My personal favorites (out of everything I own): IEM) Audeze iSINE20 ($550) Planar Magnetic IEM... I am drawn to the sound of Planars. Amp) Oppo HA-2 ($300) Best overall size to performance vs cost... looks great strapped to my phone. If you are rocking an iPhone get the HA-2SE (works directly with iOS)
Hope this helps give you some direction on things. Please feel free to ask any questions.

DaryllPeterGriffithTo add to that, I can completely recommend the Fiio Q1ii for a DAC/Amp, which is what I'm using right now. It's only $99US, and it has a balanced output too if you want to use it. I haven't tried the balanced, or any IEMs for that matter, but it sounds great with my AKG K240s.
