What is the best way to set this up for really windy conditions? I set up on a mesa and had a gusty, rainy night. I stayed dry, but the wind was hitting the walls with such force, it was pulling up the corner stakes and bowing in the side of the tent so that it was touching the inner mesh. I ended up adding rocks on top of all the stakes but wonder if I should have oriented the tent to face the wind a certain direction too? I did use the two top guyouts to support the poles.

Thanks - that's helpful for future windy situations. Overall, I love this tent and am excited to take it on future trips.
It's hard to say exactly what could be improved here without seeing the exact situation, but here's a few more general suggestions for handling wind that may help: 1) The corner stakes are essential (obviously) so if the wind is pulling them out then you likely need more substantial stakes (wider, longer etc). Different soils require different stakes, where the stock stakes are really only good for firm soils and won't have enough holding power in soft soils. As you mention, rocks help but it's hard to make up for stakes that aren't up to the task. 2) The fly can touch the mesh if the pitch isn't ideal, or if the stakes are starting to pull out which loosens the pitch. My pitching guide talks about how to ensure the sides are tight, but that may have not been an issue here if this was caused the stakes starting to come out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVboRcwY6P0 3) The end walls of the tent have less area than the side walls, so it is ideal to try point the end walls or a corner into the wind rather than the sides. 4) There are also stake point near the middle of each side along the bottom hem. This help keep the sides from deflecting in as much during high winds. Try to achieve a good pitch first, and then add these stakes to support the tent more. Ultimately the main keys are a good pitch and robust stakes. Then pointing the end wall into the wind, using the peak guylines and added more stakes around the base are also helpful.
