Hi everybody, I can't wait to take my X-Mid 2P out on the trail. I've had the tent set up for almost 4 weeks straight and it has handled rain, and snow flurries, temps down to 29 degrees, and sustained winds of up to 25 mph during a few thunderstorms. The tent looks like it just came out of the delivery box. The only problem is that while on an errand delivering groceries to my parents, the wind picked up again and I came home to an overturned tent. Three of the stake out lines on the fly snapped. I guess when one goes, the tension on the others is increased exponentially. No stitching is even frayed or material warped. Everything is perfect except for the snapped lines. So I was wondering how I can get the lines repaired or if sent new lines, I am sure I can thread into place. I am just worried a little about other lines snapping during a two week excursion through New Mexico at Philmont this coming July. Love, love, love the tent. Just need new lines.

Lawson line is excellent. I camp with Scouts too, and I replaced my stock line with 2mm orange (250lb break strength) for a bit more visibility, as high school boys can be careless around tent guylines.

danfrisbeemanI find my scouts are not only careless around tent lines, but most everything else. But the guylines do have a magnetic effect on them. Now, if son can get his project done...
Interesting and thanks for the info. I would think that if one corner line snapped then normally the tent would collapse and then the profile to the wind is dramatically reduced. So it is surprising to have additional ones break. I'll have to mull it over more. Certainly you can contact Drop and they may send you new lines (I can't speak for them) but the stock corner guylines are fairly light 1.5mm line so you may wish to switch to a thicker 2 - 2.5mm line. 2.5mm is much stronger at the expense of a few grams, and still within the allowable range for the tensioners (they are rated for 1.5 - 2.5mm line). Thicker line is sold at almost any outdoor store and often by the yard so 2 yards of it would only set you back about $3. Or you can by it by the 50' or 100' hank. There are lots of online source for 1.8 - 2.5mm cord (google "2.5mm guyline cord"). A good one is: https://lawsonequipment.com/Reflective-Glowire-p1024.html
