HD58X VS HD6XX for Streaming

more_vert
I want to upgrade from my PC373D headset to a dedicated headset to go along with my newly acquired upgrade to my set-up (mic & audio interface). I play first person shooter games mostly, and want to get the best audio experience for these types of games that I can. I also like to listen to music, movies, twitch, youtube, etc... So, I would like the most versatile accurate headset I can find that will do everything and work for streaming/podcasting/casual gaming with friends and all of the above. Thanks.

How do you guys like the headband comfort in the 58x? I’m concerned that the gap on the top for the headband would eventually start pressing on your head much like the GSP 500.

go for the 58x. the difference between the two is minimal and the 6xx is different but not worse or better. its all personal preference. id reccomend you just go for the cheaper option. you could also check a 58x vs 6xx demo on youtube to see what sounds better to you.

yeah there's even people who like beats more than sennheisers. (im jk that isn't even a valid opinion to have lol)

I have an acquaintance who tried the HD 650, put it down and said, "yeah it sounds nice but there's no noise cancelling and I like my Bose more." Honestly not a completely invalid opinion. Some people will like that the HD 58X is more laid-back in the upper mids than the HD 6XX. I am not one of them.

You may want to consider a closed-back instead. Some mics will actually pick up the sound coming from your headphones if they're open. If open is fine, get the HD 6XX if you're planning on upgrading your system later. Get the HD 58X otherwise

I appreciate the input! PC373D are open back headphones... Once you go open, you don't go back in my opinion, especially for gaming.

I know that. Just wanted to make sure that you were going to be okay with an open-back. Closed is actually desirable at times, even without the stipulation of bothering people around you. I know some people who like Verite Closed over the OG Verite open.
