Quarantine Mods ⚔️

Time on my hands and a few sacrificial knives this weekend. I received the Locust last week and immediately thought it needed some deployment love. I widened and lengthened the original hole to make finger flick deployment smooth and more importantly, dependable. I also think it fits the knife style way better than the original hole. Also decided to sand off the black paint. Not sure where QSP wanted to go with that. Next mod was the Boker Exskelibur. I have several TI scale knives and always wanted to take a torch to one; the Boker drew the short straw. Honestly, I don’t think it turned out bad. Better yet, it took longer to take it apart than to torch it up. Disclaimer, I sanded it down to bare metal and used an acetylene torch for heat. Thought I would share in case others were in the same frame of mind.

Funny and coincidental thing you have in this pic, on top of its coolness: The Boker blade looks like it belongs on a Micarta folder. The QSP blade, on fire anodized titanium! Almost looks like the knives swapped handle materials and finishes, Freaky Friday style. Or am I the only one that sees it? :)

Thats not a bad idea reswright. Wonder if I could make my first set of micarta scales for the Boker. The hard part would be taking it from frame lock to liner. It would look fitting for that blade shape.
