Specialist iFi audio ZEN DAC Signature coming ASAP on Drop!
We are excited to announce that we will also be launching a bigger and better ZEN DAC exclusive to Drop for a period of time. Based on one of the most talked about USB DAC/headphone amps on the market today, we combined improved circuitry with newfound singular purpose to produce a transportable DAC which concentrates on the DAC function and is dedicated to driving high quality amplifiers like the ZEN CAN Signature with authority and precision. Bit-perfect hi-res audio support includes PCM to 384kHz, native DSD and MQA, coupled to fully balanced analog circuit design – nothing anywhere near the price comes close.
Our exclusive Signature version elevates the ZEN DAC’s DAC performance with upgraded circuitry from iFi’s flagship Pro Series delivering exceptional poise and accuracy to any downstream amplifier, but especially the purpose-codesigned ZEN CAN Signature 6XX with matching 4.4mm balanced inputs. Like a polished version of an already highly-prized precision instrument, the ZEN...
iFi audio soon to launch on DROP exclusive CAN to maximise your Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones!
We have been working hard to bring you an exciting new product which is our ZEN CAN Signature 6XX which is a custom version of our soon to be released ZEN CAN. This will initially be sold exclusively via Drop.com. Our ZEN CAN is a remarkably capable yet affordable desk-top size analogue headphone amp. The exclusive Signature version takes the concept further and includes a unique feature – an optional EQ circuit specifically designed to optimise performance with one of the most successful high-quality headphones on the market, the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX.
This EQ circuit, called ActivEQ, calibrates the signal being amplified to complement the HD 6XX’s frequency response characteristics, thus tailoring performance to precisely fit the headphones like a made-to-measure suit. What’s more, it’s active design does this without adding the distortion commonly associated with passive equalisation circuits.
With balanced circuit design incorporating high-end components and a range of...
Not much to say here except that a $200+ cable system from Hart is now useless. 3 headphone cables, and 2 connectors 4pXLR and 3.5MM.
Connection broken in both leads. A 4pXLR and 3.5MM...
Seems the problem is with the design. Cables(earcup to mini xlr) has no stress points based on "MY" usage. However "MY" usage is the same as all you guys, desktop and stationary. The cable weight pulls on the very poor and non re-enforced solder joints. I now have 4 headphones with no connection to any amp... I will post pics of deconstructed cables in the next week. For now
Hart = Garbage
I bought AKG K7XX 'limited edition' in 2017. Good headphones. A bit cumbersome for travel. Good for at home use.
At the start of 2020 I noticed the elastic that is meant to pull the ear cups upwards to counter their weight and to fit heads smaller than max size, this elastic has totally fallen apart. It has no spring anymore. So now the ear cups sit too low. It's uncomfortable and affects the sound quality.
I am very disappointed considering it is such a simple component to get right... just don't cheap out on it.
I would post a photo but that will have to come later as I am on my PC.
What can be done to fix this??? Warranty? DIY?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Im into records and the price on line of good stuff has been sky rocketing so much so that it’s difficult to buy 1st releases of popular titles in mint or near mint condition, so I’ve had to start looking at VG+ on down with all the clicks pops and crackle that comes with these gradings. Back in the 1980’s some tech guys were looking at gadgets to remove unwanted noises from vinyl but it seemed they never could get it right and the music suffered but now this company Sweetvinyl, using the latest tech seems to have kicked a goal. They have these Sugar Cube models; SC 1 which removes the noise using Analogue to Digital conversion then Digital to Analogue conversion or DAC so the music comes out unaltered but those annoying noises are gone and SC2 which does the same but also allows recording and has a screen showing info on the album. If your on any kind of a budget like me it means you can get those hard to pay for titles at affordable prices so...
Why Doesn't Massdrop offer any DACs capable of rendering MQA files?
Especially for those of us who subscribe to TIDAL Masters, it would be nice to have an MQA option. For those who think MQA is snake-oil, fine, you don't have to buy it. But for those of us who believe MQA offers real benefits, it would be nice if Massdrop provided one or two MQA rendering DACs among the several dozen DACs it offers.
so i got some headphones off of here (KROSS GMR-54X-ISO) and ive had them for about 3 months, today i took them off my head and they just snapped down the center. am i able to get a refund or a replacement? what do i do?!
I am assuming that when the JBL LSR30X speakers arrive that they will ship to Canada by the vendor? you were unclear. I am tired of reading your whole description of an item only to find that it doesn't ship to Canada. That is rude. JBL USA will ship. Why don't you? WTF!
I have spent thousands of dollars in your store on high end stereo equipment. I expect some respect.
You have been in business long enough to update your shipping model. Aren't you listening to the complaints of your customers?
IS ANYBODY LISTENING?
Koss Drop ESP/95X with Dekoni Premium Earpads and STAX SRM-007tA/007tii
After endless capacitor changes (SonicCaps) and op-amp rolling (OPA627AU on Brown Dog Adapters), and adding a beefier 9VDC switching power supply, I’d scored a nice STAX 100VAC with North America 120/110VAC Step Down Transformer off of eBay for $500. What a huge step up ! The Koss Plastic box was never loud enough (not enough gain) and certain frequencies/musical passages would hurt my ears. These Cans are extremely resolving and feeding the Koss Box with a PS Audio DirectStream DAC sounded good but nowhere near the Koss/STAX/PS Audio combination. Lots of gain. All the frequencies/musical passages that hurt my ears were now gone. Endless amounts of midrange/treble sweetness on female vocals was achieved. Bass actually improved but don’t expect your face to get vibrations....LOL ! Any Hard Rock especially my 70’s Progressive Rock Torture Tracks played back with ease and never once did it irritate my hearing. When accidentally overdriven, the Amp rolls things off smoothly but better...
Not a concern for everyone, but have always been tortured by the pressure from the headband (big head and sensitive skull?).
Before buying online, really want to know which model has a reputation in comfortable wearing, which has the most comfortable headband that can distribute the pressure evenly? Thanks for any suggestions!
Injection molding defect, with white plastic coloration
Koss offered me a free replacement unit, however the shipping cost from France to US is more than the price of the headset. I have no other choice but to keep my unit.
It is a shame since the sound is really good. Very surprising headset. I use it more than my Audio Technica m40x with enhanced pads.
I finely have an entery level audiophile setup and a ridiculous collection of headphones with 1 problem... Where do I get music?! At the moment I stream tidal mqa(whole other barrel o' monkeys) and i have all other popular streaming services, but where do I find 24/32 bit flacs, or any other lossless audio format? I have an lg v30 and a good external dac for my pc just need music. I spent hours researching and reading online but everything just points at tidal or something, plesse help!
