Anyone else having problems with LCX+SDAC?

more_vert
It's been a while since I posted here. That's because I've become so frustrated with my equipment that I hardly use it. My setup is 2016 Macbook Pro (Tidal via ethernet) > LCX+SDAC (via usb-c to micro usb) > Focal Elex (balanced output). Pretty much every time I listen to music, it'll cut out and stop working. I need to shut it off and unplug everything for half an hour, then usually it will start up again. If it was a simple and quick reboot, that would be lame, but I wouldn't complain. If I change the output to built-in audio, the music plays just fine from the Macbook's speakers. I'm guessing it's the LCX+SDAC. I suppose it could be the headphones, but I doubt it. I bought my gear in 2018 if memory serves. It's used very lightly. I'd go weeks without turning them on, even before I started having problems. Any suggestions on how to isolate the problem and fix it? It sucks that I spent so much money on getting great gear to listen to great music, and it doesn't do that. I should've stuck with my QC 35 IIs and bluetooth (heresy, I know). Do I just accept that I have a bad unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you reboot the laptop when you restart everything else? I don't know much about macs but I imagine it would help. Sorry if you already did. Try a different DAC? I seriously doubt its the Focal's fault.

I am now the proud owner of the FOCAL Clear. My God, the sound. Where has FOCAL been all my life? Short answer: France ;-)
