Pretty easy to want that, too. I'm sure there's some proper Spyderco reason why they implement the Wave in such a thick, chunky, grind-altering way, but when you're used to the regular full flat ground leaf blades on a PM2 or Para 3, the Spyderco Wave opener blades can seem awfully thick. At least, it did to me. I just picked my first one up after holding off for a while.... and am frankly a little ambivalent about it. On top of the fattie blade it's got some lock stick that's taking a while to work out. I think the ideal for me would be if someone took the Spyderco 'cobra hood' and put a Wave lip right on the end of it. Don't know why they don't do it already. That'd be better than that whole 'mitten thumb' thing they're doing right now. Maybe Emerson figures that might be a little too hot of competition, consider how lazy they've been getting on build quality? Who knows.
