Can we get a run-down of what we see, and half-see?:)

I am on the fence between MM & MC, never heard a good MC,, worth the leap? Looking at getting a used MC to see (hear)... if I have missed something all these years...

rastusThere are excellent carts on both sides of the aisle for every type of music. I had several MMs over the last 40 years, like AT 91, AKG P 25 MD 35, P 8 ES NOVA v.d.H.2, ELAC ESG 795 E and ESG 796 HSP and they were all good, but when turning to my first MC 20 years ago, the Ortofon MC 25 FL has been a revelation. It would not have been like this without a matching phono stage and an arm, capable of running the MC, being way more demanding electrically and mechanically due to the low output, critical capacity matching and mechanical stability of the arm needed for the low compliance. If this is not given, the MC will sound horrible and any MM will Sound better. So I don't know the Technics and your phono Stage. If not sure, go for a good MM.
