Is it normal MX style switches (in my case ZealPC Zilent V2) don’t clip onto the plate? The opening for each switch is extremely tight and half my switches are not even fully in.

If you ever find that your switches seem to fit tighter than they should, especially on side of the board opposed to the other, it is possible that you have warped plate. With that being said, I have read other people complain about Zeal Zilent housings, especially on the Aquas, fight tightly on certain boards.

I can't speak to certainty for myself about tight zeals, but I can tell you that I have had warped plates that have ruined 50 bucks in switches and hot swap sockets over time on a Tofu DZ60. Zeals are a luxury. I've only ever ordered 95 65g Zealios V2s and 5 Tealios/Roserios each to test, and I used 31 Zeals on the alpha in a KBD 67 Rev 2 to see if I liked them, and then I soldered (most of) the rest into my Lily 58. I had no issues in the hot swap board. At a $1.00 to $1.30 a switch, they should sing us songs while typing.

hdsharpe1Do you know of any ways to unwarp a plate?

My zilent v2 switches clipped into the plate without any issue - I didn't notice them being particularly tight.

BlueRhino76Thanks for your reply. I’m sure it’s a tolerancing issue since some switches went it with no issue, others just did not want to clip.

Same. In my case I used NK creams. The holes are so tight that I couldn't get them off after clipped in. I also tried tacit from keebwerk, but that couldn't fit in.

scropiocznI wonder if there is a way to fix this issue without filing the switch slots.
