Audiophile Suggestions?

more_vert
I just bought the Sennheiser HD 58x and i fell in love with the audiophile sound. I was wondering where i could venture onto now. What is some headphones or appliances you guys would recommend to someone who is new to the audiophile community that will blow there mind? Price isnt an issue, but i would like to see your top picks per price bracket.

What dac and amp are you using now? Probably the best direction to start is with the things you might need :)

Planars would be a good direction. I eventually got a set of planars after a few different iems, and was glad I did. Fostex T50RP are legendary for a reason. I now want to try the Monoprice/Blon/Sendy Aiva headphone just to see what it's like. I've been stuck on wanting that for a year, but definitely will look at another planar in the future. The 3 that I have stuck with over 2 years or so have been the 58X (heavily modded/eq'd), the Fostex (heavily modded/eq'd), and the Koss Porta Pro's with yaxi pads, which my wife has officially stolen for months now and claimed as hers. They aren't eq'd and they sound perfect to anyone and everyone, even my non-audio loving wife. Definitely going with another set of planars at some point. Eng game dreams of an HD800S and a proper tube amp, but that's a dream more than a near future thing
Don't expect many upgrades to be "mind blowing"... you've already crossed that upgrade off the list by getting your first quality set. From here you will get less improvement but the upgrades will cost more. I'm not saying upgrades aren't worth it but best to have the proper expectations.
