Look at Asus routers. I have had the RT-N66R for about 4 years now and it has been very good to me. The old-style cheapie $40 routers I used before always gave me some kind of trouble. This Asus I have now has outlived a phone company DSL modem, and has gracefully accepted a switch to fiber-optic service and the new modem for that. Actually the fiber service install tech complimented me on my choice of router last year.
A link to the RT-N66U at amazon, but remember it is an older model now. https://www.amazon.com/RT-N66U-Dual-Band-Wireless-N900-Gigabit-Router/dp/B006QB1RPY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525907349&sr=8-3&keywords=rt-n66u
And Asus' own router page. The N66U is still listed as current. I think the AC68U might be the more "modern" equivalent. https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/Wireless-Routers-Products/
