Hey all, hope you’re doing well. With this installment of Creator Spotlights, we have officially become a weekly serialization! If you’re a first time reader, this is where I scour the internet and find all sorts of mechanical keyboard content creators - video, written, or audio - and share them here with you. My hope is that you find interesting content while helping creators in the mechanical keyboard community grow!
Without further ado here is this weeks around up!
Why can’t I hold all these switches? With so many switches being released onto the market you’ll need to figure out which one is best for you. Our first community submission from @erickong is about theremingoat. This is a blog where Goat dives deep into particular switches. Their history, sound, feel, wobble, and anything else relevant. If you’re a fan of knowing every single detail about a switch, this is a blog to keep up with. It’s mind boggling that he has a...
Interest in full-size/101+ key DROP CTRL or Shift style keyboard
As a lefty who can't live without a full-size board (and who doesn't want a separate/extra cable num-pad), I'm patiently waiting for a DROP CTRL/Shift style board with proper full layout.
I'm curious as to how many others would be interested in buying such a model, to show it's financially viable.
I've love to have the flexibility/style of the DROP boards, and could then happily retire my otherwise superior 6 DAS or Ducky boards.
So far we've had:
Drop CTRL (TKL)
Drop ALT (65%)
Drop SHIFT (fullsize)
Drop ENTR (80%, but to me this doesn't really count, the name itself is a pun on being entry level)
Is the Drop GUI/CMD next? Maybe as a 40%? The size seems a bit unorthodox from the norm, but the difference between 60% and 65% doesn't seem significant enough to start another flagship-tier product. My guess is that it'll replace the ENTR as an 80%. That being said, I will not feel complete until the last modifier receive its flagship keyboard.
And then the Drop META, SUPER, and HYPER can come next. Looking forward to the space cadet layout, guys!
CTRL Keyboard: Does anyone know what LED types are used?
Does anyone know what type of LED's are on the DROP CTRL RGB Keyboard? I'm asking in case anyone tried to replace one on the PCB. I saw a guy tearing down the keyboard which was awesome here https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=SCdfmLghecU&feature=emb_title.
However these LED's don't look like LEDs I found for sale at e.g.: https://kprepublic.com/collections/led
The closest I could find are: https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-4-pin-dip-3mm-round-white-led
It would be awesome to either know the exact part number or the specs like max current, operating votlage, etc.
Recently, I rejoined MT3 Susuwatari drop (I changed my previous order) and I noticed that the Order Status fell under Under Review?
Is this something ordinary? I can't seem to find anything about this and I'm sorry if it is a dumb question.
Thank you in advance and have a good day all!
