Hello, aloha, or selamat pagi -- the weekly serialization of Creator Spotlights is here again! For all you newcomers, this is where I stretch across the vast interwebs (with the help of the community here too!) in search of cool and interesting content in the mechanical keyboard space. Videos, blogs, podcasts, everything is fair game. As this hobby grows, so will the number of creators in this space. My hope is that you’ll discover new info about this hobby at the same time as supporting the hard work of these creators.
Artisan keycaps. We all have them, but do you know how they are made? This week’s curation is all about the artists and their creative process for designing and producing these mountable works of art. Thus, I humbly present to you this week’s review!
Lofi hip hop radio - beats to create keycaps to. Maybe you’ve heard of the ArtKey Universe team but have you seen their creative process? In this video, one of the members shows a...
My ALT just came in tonight and I encountered an issue when trying to change the colors of the LEDs. When I tried to flash the keyboard I got the "Complete! Success! Success!" , but my keyboard didn't come back on and windows was making the sound like a device was disconnecting and connecting. I used the hole on the back of the keyboard to reset it and a solid orange light came on. I tried flashing again multiple times, I tried different cables, and I tried re-downloading the tool/applet and recompiling the .bin file and nothing has worked. Every time I try to flash the same thing happens (windows device sound) until I reset with the button and the orange light comes on solid again. Can anyone point me in the right direction? As is probably evident, I am new to this.
When will EVERGLIDE SK87 keyboard kit come back in stock?
Hi peeps, I was wondering when will the EVERGLIDE SK87 keyboard kit come back in stock, i heard it was only 100us which is completely affordable for me. I wanted to get the drop ctrl barebones but it was just a bit out of my reach as the keycaps and the switches I want to get is around 100 CAD which totals up my sum to 300CAD if i want to build the drop ctrl.. and the Everglide would only come to around 225 CAD... cause the rates are so high here in canada I cant afford to spending that much on a keyboard but I also dont want to get a 60% or 65% because I use the f keys and arrow keys really often... Does anyone have any information as to when it will come back in stock?
I recently acquired a Drop Alt keyboard this year (2020), and I recently notiiced that sometimes I get key stutters when typing the letter "I" (I left the one intentionally in this post because it just happened as I wrote this). I tested this by pressing only that key and space and managed to get a stutter within an iinterval of spaces (happened again).
Has anyone else experiienced this (again)? Any ideas? This happens on multiple computers so its not specific to an OS.
I remember this this happening with another key as well but I clearly use it less often and noticed iit (again) less.
Is it possible to program an Alt to activate a sequence of keys with one hot key?
I want to make Fn+M output an em dash on Windows. But the way to type an em dash is to press and hold Alt+0151. Do you think it's possible to make that happen using QMK?
I haven't set up my environment for it or dug into any code yet, I was hoping to get some thoughts on whether it's doable before I went to the trouble. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Got it working by using Unicodes. If anyone else wants to do the same, files are here https://github.com/mocasalter/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards/massdrop/alt/keymaps/mocasalter
