What else would I need to purchase for a complete setup? I have the Headphones, I can buy an DAC, to go along, but do I need to buy the XLR cables to connect the dac to this amp and what other accessories will I need? Also I see 99% of people only using the 4 pin XLR on the front so would I need a 1/4 to XLR adapter to use this and forget about just using the 1/4 SE port?

You can connect the a dac to the amp using the RCA inputs. XLR should not be the main concern but if your dac has that ability, it's definitely ideal for input signal strength. 1/4 to 4 Pin XLR adapaters are not available due to the headphone needing to be wired for balance, you just wont be getting the full power of the amplifier which depending on your headphones could not be needed.

DonMarquezHi, thanks for the reponse, I was looking into the Beyerdynamic dt 1990 Pro's as my choice of headphones, it comes with a detatchable mini xlr to 3.5 with a 1/4 adapter. I am still a little uneducated about balanced setups but because its detatchable, is there such thing as a Mini Xlr to 4-pin XLR meaning I can go from headphones to amp making it all balanced? Also I just bought the Grace SDac to go with this amp

nyfox12Yes there is in fact such a cable. Here's a link to one from periapt cables, just select proXLR to see the specific cable. https://periaptcables.com/collections/frontpage/products/7-type-7-4-pin-xlr-mini?variant=32603144781929 If you have the regular Grace SDAC, then you'll just have to hook it up to the amplifier single ended. The only thing you'll lose is the slight increase in volume from connecting via XLR. The amp itself will still provide the full balance power experience to the headphones and considering the dt 1990 Pro's aren't the hardest headphones to drive you'll have plenty of headroom using the 4-Pin balance connector. Hope this helps.
