Drop ALT Mechanical Keyboard overheating problem

more_vert
Problem: Recently, my keyboard is disconnecting from my PC suddenly with the RGB on statically ( Can't change the pattern or brightness).
  • This keyboard is a month old.

Theory: This is just my theory, however, I'm almost guarantee that the keyboard is disconnecting because of overheating. To test it out, when the keyboard is disconnected from my PC, I quickly expose cold air (using AC) to my keyboard then reconnect to my PC. Result: Instant reconnect and function as normal. + When the brightness is below 50% (I'm not sure) there's no overheating problem nor disconnect. Just a dull looking keyboard... When it's in 100%, beautiful, but overheating :( Question: Is there way to set the rgb brightness low when you start your PC or turning on keyboard? It seems like when the keyboard is powered, the brightness is set to be 100%, and I have to manually lower it every time. -Or is mine is just defective? I doubt but possible..

You can set the default brightness within QMK, but not through our Configurator. I think it may be a power draw issue rather than overheating.

That is very odd. If you'd like a replacement, we'd be happy to make that happen. Please submit a ticket with CS to get that process started. Also know that Support is backlogged and a response may take some time. I kindly ask that you be patient while you wait for a response. To skip any troubleshooting they may ask of you, you can simply link this thread in your ticket.
