Not really. Builds are ultra specific. Video cards you shouldn't buy on bargain but on need. I'm a buyer of these things. My desktop probably around 6500 or so. Would only ever buy ultra specific parts specific to that machines current build. Would never idle shop components. Same for anything I build in that fashion.
P1MPBOT5000GPU's tend to do quite well here normally though, always reaching the drop point.
Builds being ultra specific is definitely going to be the hardest thing MD would have to overcome though for having a big PC community. The wait, depending on how long it is, will definitely be an issue in some cases. Like I said earlier, if you are doing a new build, you are probably going to want all the stuff in ASAP and be more than willing to pay for that. I know I'm that way.
Many valid points, but I don't think everyone shops the same way as you. I have a few builds around the house for my work, gaming, and wife's computer, and have definitely gotten on a few deals when I see them that I wasn't planning on.

livingspeedbumpI think whats working is already being done right? Bringing the other components and stuff into play seems more trivial. It's definitely the case that people building things for general purposes will pick up components because they are cheap or on sale. You are right that if they are building a system they will not want to wait either. There are also a million other websites selling parts and selling them at absurd prices at any time during the week and websites dedicated to tracking the prices of these components. I don't feel like this is a place for that kind of stuff. They would have to offer so many things to make it make sense that they might as well change the sites name to newegg or amazon.
Maybe if you wanted to do all the like EK waterblock stuff - but that is even more enthusiast and not generalist like what you need to actually sell things. So I dunno. I see this idea and I think to myself - the people at Mass Drop already had this debate 1000 times and came to the conclusion there is simply 'too much' to have to do there or that it just waters down the idea of what is going on at mass drop. The only reason I am here is because they are doing some exclusive shopping on my behalf. Water that down and peace out.
