I use amazon for my music and noticed that often times you can get a cd or album for cheaper than just buying the mp3. If you buy the physical cd or album in most cases the purchase also includes the digital audio at no extra charge. I've been building a record collection because of that, I just don't have a turntable yet.
When I do get around to buying one I'm going to want one that converts to mp3 and they're in the $150+ price range. I'll only end up buying 1 turntable but I would buy some cool stuff if it popped up.

MrWolfYou can actually just hook up a preamp that connects to the PC via USB to (almost) any turntable. Then using software like Audacity you can rip your records.
shabusnelikYeah! This is actually a method I'd recommend more than getting a cheap turntable with a usb output. Having a usb preamp (Behringer makes one for likr $30) you can upgrade the rest of your set up easier and/or not be limited just to usb turntables. I actually just use my Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 as my interface when I do want to rip a record.
