An Update on Blades

more_vert
Hey everyone, We are excited to announce improved shipping for our blades as well as new developments around upcoming increases in pricing due to government-imposed tariffs.  Last year, we made the decision to begin shipping our Drop Studio knives manufactured in China from a China-based warehouse. This was done to leverage the tariff’s personal importation exemption and allowed us to avoid increasing prices. However, as many of you may know, shipping from China has proven difficult, even more so during the ongoing global pandemic. What was a month’s lead time for delivery pre-COVID has stretched to twice that, and in some cases, even longer. Tracking numbers are only valid for a certain amount of time and some orders were taking so long to be delivered that the tracking had expired. These issues have made it clear that shipping from China is no longer a viable option at this time, so we’ve made the decision to begin importing all Drop Studio knives to our US-based warehouse which will vastly improve shipping speed, consistency, and tracking. Unfortunately, that means all the knives imported will be subjected to the importation tariff. We did everything we could to avoid raising prices, but in order to continue offering our exclusive Drop Studio knife collaborations, we have to make some adjustments and pass on a portion of the tariff as a price increase. Over the next few weeks, prices will begin to adjust as we start shipping from the US.  We continue to be dedicated to providing amazing value in our products and thank all of you for your patience and feedback over the last few months. We know it has been frustrating for many of you. While price increases are something we always work to avoid, we’re looking forward to offering huge improvements in shipping moving forward. Thanks for your support and for being a member of Drop.

Any word on when some of the knives that were shipped from China will be starting to be offered again?

How about you start making them in the US and avoid the tariff completely

In the past three months, I’ve purchased four different Twosun knives on four different dates. These were all shipped for free from China via DHL E-Commerce to USPS, and all of them took between two and three weeks to get to my door. I’m not exactly sure why Drop can’t do this...free shipping from China to my door in two to three weeks! Mind you...these are COVID Times, and I’m still getting my knives in 14 to 21 days!

Same issues as always with Mass/Drop, “delays beyond our control” is old and tired. Don’t order anything unless you are prepared to wait past original ship date,

Not to delve off-topic, but how about some more lefty options since we’re talking about changes...
