I was just looking at that DAC to go with my 789. Can you comment something about it? Is it a good match? Thanks :)

pauleskoI currently own two other DACs. The Topping DX7s and the RME ADI-2 FS, which are both nice units. Especially the RME. It comes with all the bell and whistles. A good amp and a great DAC. It was my favorite go to reference; until I received the Denafrips Ares II DAC last month. It is hard to explain the sound and the differences between them the two, but the Ares II make you want to stop your A/B comparison and only listen to it. I play jazz piano and understand how live analog and digital music should sound and I can tell you that the Denafrips Ares II reproduces a uniquely realistic sound, filled with clarity and presence. A pure sound if you will. It draws you in with it's neutrality. Especially when paired with the THX AAA 789, this DAC is truly a purist's dream, as they say. I look forward to getting home in the evenings to start listening. I guess by now you probably can tell that I'm a fan, and I'm thoroughly impressed with this unit and completely satisfied with my purchase. If you do get one, I hope you enjoy it the way that I have.
