Something wrong with my setup?

more_vert
So I just got the HD6xx and the Schiit Heresy and Modi stack. I put in my RCA cables from the Modi to the Heresy and then plugged in the usb from the Modi to my pc. I plugged the headphones in and everything sounds great. However, there is this static and some pops in the left driver of my headphones when I'm using it. I don't want to jump to conclusions and think I have a faulty unit so I'm wondering if something is wrong with how I set everything up. Thank you.

If the problem only occurs when changing volume, in addition to the canned air, switch the amp off and rotate the volume knob from 0-max for a minute or so. It sounds stupid but it does a very good job of clearing any dust and debris which can cause that noise when you adjust the volume. I have the same issue with my Emotiva A-100. Before i switch it on i just rotate the knob like i described before and I'm happily static free!
