That looks amazing. Did the sound change at all? Also where did you get those cups or did you make them. Im in the market for new headphones and these look like a contender if I can do the mod.

so... how do they sound is the question everyone has right now? I don't think anyone here has sont mdr10 but does it come any close to any biocellulose driver headphone?

DeyDeyThe $5,000 is a planar closed back with the MDR-R10 "inspired" wooden cup design; and the $1,000 version is a dynamic closed back with the same woodcups. I don't know if the dynamics are biocellulose drivers. Nor do I know if Hifiman actually copied the MDR-R10 wood cups down to the special interior surface aberrations that are described in Sony's patents. Furthermore, I highly doubt that the same woods that are being used for the Hifiman models are the same woods selected for the MDR-R10's. For the $1,000 dynamic driver version, Hifiman shows that they're using plastic baffles instead of the wooden ones used in the OG MDR-R10's. As always, the proof in the pudding will be how these Hifiman cans sound.
