I ordered the 1P version of this tent and I am excited to try it out. The only real concern I have is the width of the inner tent, which appears to be just 28”. That is quite narrow, and I worry that my 6 foot 200 lb frame will feel like it’s in a sausage skin. However, I don’t really need (or want) as much room as in the 2P version. There are tent manufacturers who sell essentially “1.5 P” sizes of their tents, which I much prefer. Much easier to lay on my side without my arms and legs getting caught up in the netting. A version that is 36” to 40” wide would be perfect, and I think it would be easy to design using the same geometry in your current versions. A 2 lb tent that generously accommodates a single backpacker and has all the other great attributes of your tent WOULD BE AWESOME. 👍🏼

I agree this would be awesome. A 38-40" wide "1.5P" version would work for solo hikers that like a generous space and could also work for two hikers that are wanting to cram into a smaller tent to save oz. We're not working on this now so we won't have it available any time soon unfortunately. In the medium-long term I would like to have this option. If I can convince Drop to do another tent then perhaps we could do this, but I also have a few other ideas that I'd like to try, such as a lighter singlewall versions, so it's hard to say which would happen first. I agree this has merit - whether it actually happens is hard to say.

Yes, I agree totally. It's a niche market. You are probably familiar with how the Haven Bundle does it.
mazamabillI'm actually not familiar with how the Haven bundle does it. I've seen how TarpTent does it (which also requires tying on a guyline). Does SMD have a nicer system? I didn't see any useful pictures on their website.
