How to properly remove key switches?

more_vert
I am wondering what I am doing wrong when removing switches from my DROP CTRL because I am unable to remove them. I pinch using the tool included in the box on the top and bottom of the switch from a bird's eye view, pressing down on the latch below. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't feel like I am able to actually remove these switches without breaking something.

The included tool is a little curved on the ends, which makes it slip off the switches easily, and it's pretty springy. You have to squeeze it quite hard to get the switch to release from the plate and keep it held in the tool. After removing a dozen switches my hands were really tired! Here's a video of me doing it: https://youtu.be/7qcS6Yf6c0g?t=148 The switch bodies are tough. You are probably not going to be able to break the switch with the included tool. I found that sometimes I couldn't get the switch to release without slightly rocking the tension back and forth from front to back. In addition, make sure you are gripping the switch right above the plate, with the tool almost touching the plate (or touching it lightly, being careful not to dig in and scratch it)

There is a latch on the bottom housing that acts like a trigger to keep the switch in place. The tool is used to depress the latch

That's what I've been doing, of course. However, the switches still are unable to be removed. Did they remove this feature for the newest batch? I received mine yesterday.
ready4regiThey would not change the switch molds
